Java

CE6 uses the Java Runtime Environment package, which can be downloaded from http://www.java.com. The most recently certified versions are:

  • 1.4.2_06 and higher
  • 1.5.0_04 and higher (version 1.5.0_07 is preferred, and is downloadable here)

Java 1.6 is now supported. While it previously caused incompatibilities, the recent updates resolve these. If you are experiencing continuing errors, please contact WestOne Infodesk.

Java Security Certificate

After logging in to WebCT, you will be prompted to accept a Java Security Certificate. You must click Yes or Always to ensure that WebCT functionality using Java will work properly in your browser.

Pop-up Blockers

WebCT sometimes uses small browser windows to deliver requested content.

Some pop-up blockers incorrectly interpret these small windows as pop-ups and block them.
If you have installed a pop-up blocker, turn it off while using WebCT.
